About Us

I started Maryland Fiber Arts, LLC, back in the summer of 2018 – the ‘spark’ for starting the business was what I learned in some classes I took in 2014 in the art of machine embroidery design. I’ve always been fascinated with the advances in computer embroidery systems and being a computer programmer, myself was attracted to the whole concept. Along the way, I had several starts and stops, bumps in the road, etc. The biggest problem was that I was still working full time at my software/process engineering job at the government, and time to spend on a new startup company was difficult to come by. My loving wife, Joan, an avid quilter, continued to piece several quilts while I tried to spend as much time as I could to help. Now that full retirement has finally been realized the time was right to restart the business.

My goal has always been to make available a collection of fine products, all hand made in Maryland, through our online store and at various fairs and craft venues. Our products include embroidered items, quilts (all types) and other home decor and novelty items..

We want to be that special shop that offers ready-to-use quilts of all genres and types as well as a collection of embroidered items. We already have a selection of items ready for purchase and will be adding more in the very near future. Items include beautiful FSL snowflake Christmas ornaments, customized bookmarks and door hangers for the kids, key chains and other unique items. We already have available several ready-to-use lap quilts and wall hangings with many more to come.

For those who own embroidery machines there are a few downloadable machine embroidery design files, in all the popular machine formats, custom designed by Maryland Fiber Arts and ready for you to stitch out!

Finally, I recently decided to make my Astro-photos available through my other web store.
